All Black Madonna

I had envisioned this look in my head for a few days after buying this black sleeveless chiffon kimono from a local store where I live. I also bought it in beige! Wearing all black clothing on a hot summer day is probably not the best idea but I, however, tend to live life on the edge. #Thuglife lol. Below are some tips I've come up with for wearing all black in the summer - and keeping cool.

  • Go for light-weight airy fabrics such as chiffon, voile, lace, eyelet, terrycloth, silk and light chambray. Stay away from polyester and nylon!
  • Avoid long sleeves, high collars and turtle necks.
  • Choose shorts, skirts and dresses over pants, jeans and leggings.
  • Keep accessories and jewelry to a minimum or don't wear any.
  • Heels: Not more than two-three inches high.
  • Less is more!
  • And remember to feel good wearing all black - it's slimming!
Do you dare to wear all black in the summer? Go for it!

Blazin' Pink

Crop Top: Local store // Shorts: Wet Seal (They were dark blue and I bleached them) // Blazer: Strawberry (old) // Heels: Asos

I'm a big fan of wearing blazers with shorts. Something about "business on top/ party at the bottom" I really like.

When your goal is to gain experience, perspective, and knowledge, failure is no longer a possibility. Failure is your invention. Neon Is The New Black

Here we are, Summer 2014 has arrived (well not really, just about 14 more days left for it to officially commence but in my mind - ya comenzo! *insert creepy smiley face here* lol) and it looks like neon colors are still going to be on trend just like last summer 2013. I own a few neon heels but these Stradivarius ones are honestly my favorite! I remember coming across them on Pinterest and immediately went on a hunt to find them. Stradivarius is a women's apparel brand based in Spain. They're owned by Inditex Group which also owns Zara. I searched for these heels so much after finding out on their website that they don't ship to the U.S.! Bummer! They have over 800 stores worldwide in 50 countries including 2 stores in the homeland Dominican Republic (whoop! whoop!) but no stores in the U.S. I find that to be so interesting, the fact that they don't have any stores in the U.S and don't ship either - perhaps it's  because Zara sells similar merchandise? Maybe. I don't see why they don't open one here! I wish they did because I'm obsessed with their stuff! So, after searching and searching (thanks to Google gods) I found them on ebay by a seller from Portugal! Bought them for $75 and was a happy camper.

Have A #HappyWeekend! Hoy se bebe!

Labios Rojos & Stripes

Is it summer yet!? Today sure felt like it! I love this sleeveless blazer because it's pretty versatile and you can pair it up with almost anything. I want it in more colors! I don't know why I didn't wear these H&M sandals more last summer, they're so edgy & the thick 2 inch heels make them super comfy.

It's currently 10:15pm on this side - may you have a wonderful rest of your night!

Sky Blue Lovin'

It's funny how when I was younger I didn't like the colors sky blue or baby pink. I just found those colors to be too "babyish" and relate too much to babies - and of course when we're young we always want to seem older lol. Wearing anything baby blue or baby pink made me feel a lot younger than what I was. Now it's kind of growing on me for some weird reason. I just like how soft and serene it looks. Am I weird, or what!
